Baked Chicken Pastries

   
INGREDIENTS
 
80 g lard
80 g butter
60 g icing sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
280 g flour
1 egg yolk, beaten with 1 tablespoon water
2 tablespoon sesame seeds
 
METHOD
 
1 Mix lard, butter, sugar and one egg together. Add in flour and knead well.
2 Roll out the dough into a large square. Cut into squares about 6 cm X 6cm and place about 1 tablespoon of the prepared filling onto each square. Fold the pastry end seal the edges.
3 Brush egg yolk on the pastry and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
4 Bake till golden brown at 180° C for 25 minutes.
 
TO PREPARE THE CHICKEN FILLING
2 tablespoons oil
100 g char siew
100 g minced chicken
2 tablespoons green peas
1 onion, sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon cornflour mixed with 1 tablespoon water
 
METHOD
 
1 Heat oil. Add in the char siew, chicken and green peas and sauté till the chicken is cooked.
2 Add in the rest of the ingredients and bring to boil and let it thicken.
