Corn Soup

   
INGREDIENTS
 
1 onion, chopped
1 litre water
500 g corn kernels
500 ml low fat milk
250 ml evaporated milk
2 red chillies, cut lengthwise
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
salt
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 tablespoons oil
Salt to taste
 
METHOD
 
1. Heat oil and fry mustard seeds and cumin seeds till aromatic.
2. Add in the chillies and onion and saute till soft.
3. Add in the water, low fat milk, corn kernels, the cumin and
    turmeric powder and salt.
4. Boil for about 3 minutes.
5. Add in the evaporated milk and boil for about 2 minutes.
6. Serve with rice or bread.
