
Hot Barley with Quail’s Eggs

INGREDIENTS
3000 ml water
50 g Chinese barley
70 g black dates
70 g red dates
100 g dried longan
140 g rock sugar
5 pandan leaves tied into a knot
10 hard boiled quail’s eggs, shelled
METHOD
1. Place all ingredients in a large saucepan, bring to boil over medium fire.
2. Cook till the barley is soft. If necessary add more hot water.
3. Serve hot as a dessert.
Note: Omit the eggs if you don’t like it in a dessert
