Marble Cake

   
INGREDIENTS
 
250 g butter
260 g caster sugar
4 large eggs, beaten well
260 g self raising flour
100 g cooking chocolate, melted
2 tablespoons milk
 
METHOD
 
1 Preheat oven to 180°c/ 350°F/ mark 4
2 Line a 20 cm tin with greaseproof paper or baking paper.
3 Cream butter and sugar until pale and thick and gradually add in a little of the beaten egg at a time until all are used up.
4 Fold in the flour and the milk.
5 Divide mixture into 2 portions.
6 To one portion add in the melted chocolate.
7 Drop spoonfuls of the batters into the cake tin alternating the plain with the chocolate.
8 Use the handle of the spoon to give one quick swirl, then bake for 60 minutes or a skewer comes out clean.
